Wizard Staffs Across the Universe
Tomorrow (Saturday, June 23rd) is Wizard Staffs Across the Universe Day! A wizard staff is created when you drink a beer and duct-tape your new full beer to the top of the empty can.
While Tiny Fix would never condone irresponsible binge-drinking (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha oh sorry I was just thinking of a funny story there (slams shot of whiskey)) we highly suggest you spend tomorrow constructing your own scepter of power.

Trash Bags just updated their store with a ton of sweet, sweet swag. You may remember them because they made the incredibly dope Waste Basket up there for the Tiny Fix Ace Race. Andy (owner, workhorse, total fucking sweetie pie) makes bags that can hold everything from your wallet, u-lock, patch kit, and a can of beer to your entire fucking bike, and they’re all so incredibly durable and well-made that I’m pretty sure after the apocalypse the only things left on earth will be cockroaches and Trash Bags.

Remember those sick d’emploi hip bags from the prize table at the Ace Race? Remember how you suck at riding bikes, so you didn’t get one?
Well, suck it up, buttercup, because our boy Kyle will be showcasing his wares at the Brooklyn Renegade Handmade Craft Show this weekend, June 23rd-24th 11am-7pm, at East River State Park (N 8th and Kent Ave).
Not in NYC? That is what the Internet is made for, my dear.

Read MoreGirlcrush: Elissa Steamer
Elissa Steamer wasn’t the first girl to pick up a skateboard; but she was the first to star in skate videos and skate professionally. Transworld has a really excellent interview with her up that I suggest you read even if you know nothing about skateboarding, because she is excellent inspiration for bruised girls who roll with the boys.
On her early fast sloppy pro life, touring in a van full of dudes:
“All my friends were just skate rats. All I wanted to do was drink beer, smoke reefer, and skateboard. It was perfect. I knew like, ‘Well, you gotta pull the van over, because I can’t piss in a bottle.’ Other then that, none of it ever really crossed my mind. We were skaters. That was it. We’re doing it. I’m living. I just discovered life right there through skateboarding.”
Check this video out for some glorious nineties VHS footage of Elissa’s signature dope style. Some of the tricks come off effortlessly, and sometimes she brutally slams her body into the ground. Over and over. Then screams “FUCK!” or slams her skateboard into a wall. Then gets up to do it all over again. I hope you find inspiration in her stone cold balls, my little tiny scouts.
Elissa’s part from “Jump Off a Building” (’98) to Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart”.
